I am making everything to be new and fresh. Write down at once all that I have told you, because each word is trustworthy and dependable.<\/em> &#8211; Revelation\u202c \u202d21:5\u202c \u202dTPT\u202c\u202c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Considering this verse, the following two things stood out for me:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>God is making all things new (also referenced in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Isaiah+65%3A17&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Isaiah 65:17<\/a>)<\/li><li>Every Word that God speaks is trustworthy and dependable, thus He is trustworthy and dependable in character<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you would have asked me, 366 days back, what my outlook would have been on the year 2020, my answer would have not gotten close to how the year turned out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For a once-in-a-lifetime event, or occurrence, is just like that\u2026 it would be something that would occur once in your lifetime and it would surprise you when you least expect it. 2020 in itself on so many levels was such a once-in-a-lifetime event or occurrence.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are about a year and a bit into the acknowledgment of a virus that reached pandemic proportions on a global scale. Even here, in South Africa, we are currently experiencing the second wave of Covid-19 infections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBut how\u201d, in context to \u201cwhat we are experiencing right now\u201d, you may ask, \u201c is God deemed to be faithful and dependable?\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking back on 2020, but not getting stuck there and living forward, I have experienced God\u2019s faithfulness time and time again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is true that we might get dismayed, frustrated and even angry with God, when we have to face unexplained situations head on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2020, an uncle and two aunts of mine went to be with the Lord &#8211; in all the cases different degrees of grief came to the surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Just last week, on Christmas Day, I reminisced upon previous Christmas lunches with the extended family on my mom\u2019s side and a wave of grief crashed over me, but it did not keep me captive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What I want to bring across, is that some of you might be finding yourself in a spot where life is challenging, even hellish right now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I want you to keep holding on to the promise that at the beginning of the New Year, 2021, God is still trustworthy and can be depended on in every situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My uncle and aunts may no longer be here on earth, but their legacy that they left behind still remains and the memories of them will still remain for years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is based on the fact the people remember you, even beyond death that should in fact be motivation enough to make us resolute to keep certain dreams and visions in our sight. It is the vision and dreams to come to pass that would eventually leave a legacy behind by which people will remember you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A friend of mine actually recommended to me in the last couple of days to draw up or create a vision board for the year ahead. I, at first, disregarded her suggestion as it sounded to girly for my male ego, for images of glitter, gel pens and arts and craft type posters, came to mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She was, however right (a blow to my male ego).
